BlueTubes would help visitors to FortPierce Inlet keep beaches clean and keep plastic out of the ocean.
“BlueTubes are doing very well. A lot of people are picking up trash off the beach and it helps tremendously when they have access to bags. I’m all for them. Now we’re going to be looking at keeping the lagoon clean.”
Install BlueTubes at your beach entrances so people can grab a clean, used plastic bag, pick up trash and throw it away. Beachgoers add their extra bags to BlueTubes, and the cycle continues. BlueTubes can be sponsored for $160, tax-deductible. Sponsors get a BlueTube customized with their logo, and everyone gets a cleaner beach and ocean. A portion of sponsor fees supports research on ocean plastic.
BlueTubes make it easy for people to remove more trash from more beaches more often. With a bag and a reminder, people are happy to keep the beaches they love clean. We encourage clean beaches and a plastic-free ocean with our informative website, monthly blogs on plastic and the marine environment, social media posts, a monthly email newsletter called Trash Talk, events and talks.
The first BlueTubes were installed on east coast Florida beaches three years ago, and today there are 170 well-used BlueTubes at beaches and waterfront parks. Sadly, there are still no BlueTubes on your beach. We are happy to answer any questions or put you in touch with groups that are happy to testify to BlueTube’s effectiveness.
Won’t you be the first to introduce BlueTubes there?
